It’s Ernie your talking dog. A bit more of a serious post this week and less about fun and frolics and my crazy antics as this time, I need your help. Well, maybe just a little sprinkling of fun but certainly a little less mischief from me on this one special occasion!
Franky and Jellys are challenging all of their friends and followers across the United Kingdom to #giveahelpingpaw this Christmas! I know for sure that every single one of my four-legged friends that will be spending this Christmas in rescue centres will really appreciate your support.
Lots and lots of you will have seen the Facebook live streaming video on Frank and Jellys Facebook page where they announced what it means to give a helping paw. For those of you missed it or just need some additional information I thought I would replay back what it’s all about and include some frequently asked questions.
What is the #giveahelpingpaw campaign all about?
Frank and Jellys are challenging their friends and followers old and new to put unwanted dog related items into a shoe box and deliver it to their local Dogs Trust centre this festive season. Think of it as a Christmas gift from your family to a dog who will spend the Christmas period in a rescue centre. A welcome gift indeed!
Who can get involved in?
Absolutely anyone can get involved! You don’t have to own a dog, you just have to love dogs. Get the kids involved, nieces and nephews, work colleagues, grandparents. Absolutely anyone can get involved. It’s a great way to be creative and have fun with the special people in your life. Tell all of your social media family we want everyone to get involved and have fun, but ultimately make a difference at this difficult time of year.
What do I put in my shoe box?
Anything you can give is greatly appreciated both by Frank and Jellys and the Dogs Trust. It doesn’t have to cost a lot and you can also donate any unwanted items you may already have laying around at home. With temperatures getting colder we recommend blankets, bedding, towels, coats, tins of wet dog food, long lasting treats and toys. You don’t have to put all of these items in your box. Every little bit helps and is appreciated and will make a four-legged friends Christmas and winter that little bit more comfortable.
How does the challenge work?
We want you to get involved with us on your social media via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and share your journey and spread a little Christmas Joy. Shout it from the roof tops! We are one big happy family at Frank and Jellys and we have a huge community which we would like you to be a part of. Take a photo of your box and you building it with it with family and friends and use the #giveahelpingpaw so we can enjoy your pictures too and feature these in our hall of fame and social media. We want to be able to thank you too for giving back but without the hashtag we won’t know!
How long is the campaign running for?
At Frank and Jellys HQ we are challenging our social media family to start building their boxes from Friday 25th November 2016. We will be adding an item a week in our box and delivering the box to our local Dogs Trust centre just before Christmas. You can work at whatever pace you like and deliver the boxes to a time a date that suits you, right up until Friday 20th January 2017. Please note that opening times may vary over the Christmas bank holidays so check first before travelling down.
How do I know where my nearest Dogs Trust centre is based?
There are over twenty Dogs Trust centres based over the UK. The image attached to this blog will tell you but if you need further information just click here
So when my box is ready what do I do?
So when your box is ready just pop down to your local Dogs Trust centre and tell reception that you a donating your shoe box for the Frank and Jellys #giveahelpingpaw campaign. There you will be greeted with a smiley member of the Dogs Trust team. They will pass on your boxes to the dogs within the centres who will be wagging their tails in excitement to receive them! Take a selfie with your friends and family whilst delivering your box to your local Dogs Trust centre as there will be a special competition which you will all be entered into as a thank you for your support of our campaign.
So what’s the competition I will be automatically entered into by just taking part?
Add the #giveahelpingpaw and take us on your journey. Share your experience with us to be in for the chance to win one of these fantastic prizes. It’s our way of giving back for your generous giving; a luxury handmade dog bed RRP £110 from one of the top Frank and Jellys recommended suppliers, a bottle of champagne and five Frank and Jellys vouchers valued between £10 and £50.
I’d like to get more hands on and help more, is there anything more I can do to help ?
Yes of course! Thank you, we would love to have you and your help would be really appreciated. Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for details of how to become a campaign champion and we will send you through an information pack.
Thanks again for your continued support. We can’t wait to see your photos. Love and licks!
Ernie & the Frank and Jellys team xx
